These cold winter mornings call for big mugs of Chai Tea Latte. But Starbucks is’nt always accessible and I’m a sucker for freshly brewed beverages. So the next best thing to do is DIY.Let’s get started!
Recipe for 2~
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup of Milk
- 1 1/2 Cups of Water ,
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons of Black Tea (Orange Pekoe)
- 2 Tablespoons of Sugar (Add more if you like it sweeter!)
- A pinch of Cinnamon powder
- 1 inch piece of Ginger (grated)
- 1/2 Teaspoon of Black Pepper Powder
Quick tip: You can alternate the quantity of spices according to your preference.
Step 1:
Boil the water.
Step 2:
Add the tea, cinnamon powder, ginger, black pepper powder and sugar to it.
Step 3:
When the water comes to a boil, add the milk
Step 4:
Let it simmer on medium heat for 4-5 minutes. Then increase the heat to maximum till the tea comes to a boil.Switch it off and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
Step 5:
Strain the tea into the mixer.Close the lid carefully, make sure not to spill it on yourself. Switch on the mixer and turn it off after 35-40 seconds. The tea would have turned all frothy by now and your Latte is ready to be served!
Tall, Grande or Venti- what’s your pick? 😀 Until next time..
