Hi lovelies! `、ヽ`ヽ`、ヽ٩(ˊ〇ˋ*)و`、ヽ`☂ヽ`、ヽ
These past couple of days have been anything but ordinary. We have had snow, a terrible power outage, we have had the fire alarm go out in the middle of the night and 2 inches deep water flood our apartment-courtesy the broken water sprinklers. The temperature has been close to -15 degrees celsius (5 degrees Fahrenheit!) , the coldest I have ever had to deal with and although I am trying my very best to enjoy the freeze and the chill, it has taken twice the amount of energy and my entire will power to get even simple things done. Penning this post as I wait patiently for the carpets to dry..

Snow day OOTD!
The Electricity Guys
Many of you have been waiting patiently for my vegan recipes but after I had a terrible oven mishap (burnt my skin off!), I have been extra cautious with that, but I will be coming up with some delicious stuff supersoon! So life has been weirdly busy and I am trying my best to deal with all of this. And today’s post is mainly my life in cellphone pictures (no particular order), this week! All the neighbors have been super supportive and have offered us their help in these testing times. Faith in humanity restored!? Hehe 😀 Adversity is a real test of people around you and I am glad that although we are new to this place, the folks here have been great. So officially, I am in love with North Carolina! ❤
Also, I got some words of wisdom for all you people who are suffering from cold-induced ailments. Make sure to use a humidifier at all times, to moisten the dry air which might be giving you headaches or making your skin break out. You can add a few drops of essential oil(peppermint and eucalyptus have been good to me). Your hair must be greasy from the infrequent washing-which might be making your roots itchy or sensitive (mine hurt!) a good hot coconut oil massage is always a good idea! What else, umm keep yourself hydrated at all times and if water is not too edible around this time, try sipping on some hot tea. I got good big boxes of organic tea from wholefoods ( peppermint n chamomile), a cute blue teapot from the Christmas Tree Store and a monogrammed mug from Anthropologie for hubz-trust me, these little changes have worked wonders! We now drink more water and it’s great to flush out the toxins.
Also, incorporate more greens, more vegetables in your diet. Winter is a good time to throw in a variety of stuff and make delicious hot soups and one-pot meals.
Before I sign off I just want to give a little update. I will be starting a segment called “My Organic Journey” and you guys will be able join me in my quest to a healthier and more holistic approach to life. I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead! Until next time!
