GET GOOD SLEEP NOW!

Hello lovelies!

I know I have been missing from the past few weeks, but when you drop a mugful of hot cocoa on your Mac and it dies out on you, you can’t help but sit in a sad corner and reflect on your clumsiness. After 2 weeks of mourning, I got a new laptop (thanks hubz :D) and the first thing which I wanted to get back to was the blog!I was so happy to see that many of you dropped by even when I wasn’t writing anything new. Thank you so much for being so patient guys <3

Today’s post has been long due, firstly because so many of my friends have discussed this issue with me and how difficult it has become for them to turn off! Technology is a wonderful, wonderful thing but anything in excess can only cause you trouble ne? Just sharing some of my personal tips about getting a good sleep in these trying times of tech-induced insomnia.

1) MIND YOUR DINNER:

A proper eating pattern is essential for a good night’s sleep. Make sure not to stuff yourself or stay hungry before bed. Overeating or overdrinking can disrupt sleep later in the night. Also, stay clear from drinks that contain alcohol or caffeine.

2)TAKE A WARM BATH:

Nothing like a soothing bath to help those sore muscles relax after a hard day’s work! Make sure to use some bath salts or a mildly fragrant shower gel.

3) YOUR CUP OF TEA:

Treat yourself to a hot cup of tea, preferably something which has a calming effect on you such as Chamomile or Jasmine.

4) PREP YOUR BED:

Make sure to clean your bed, tidy your bedside table and create a comfortable sleeping area. Soft, fluffy and great smelling bedsheets are oh so inviting!

5)BEDTIME STORIES:

Chicken Soup for the Soul 

Remember the days when your mum read you to sleep, it’s time to get back to basics and grab a bedtime book for yourself. If you aren’t much of a reader, I would suggest choosing a book of short stories such as the Chicken Soup series.

5)DIM THE LIGHTS:

Nothin’ like a high watt bulb to kill your sleep, make sure to choose soft and dim reading lights.

6)TECH-NO:

Keep all electronic devices like your cellphone, ipad etc at an arm’s length.No really, keep them as far as possible, I know you will be tempted but please remember that your body needs rest and not Facebook or Instagram!

7) RELAX!

Now that you’ve tried every trick of the trade, shut down and relax! Keep your hands and your eyes away from your phone and meditate. Thank God for all your blessings and say a silent prayer!

    Was wondering where you disappeared..sad about your Mac…and congrats on the laptop 🙂

    Its true..we all get way too carried away by technology and most of us fall asleep with a Mobile in hand…
