The first signs of dry lips are cracking and peeling out of the skin. An essential lip care routine involves scrubbing out of the dry dead layer of the lips so that it can give way to a softer new layer.
BROWN SUGAR AND COCONUT OIL LIP SCRUB Ingredients 2 tablespoons of coarse brown sugar 1 tablespoon of coconut oil Preparation In a small bowl, mix the sugar and coconut oil to create a coarse paste. Application Take some of the paste on your index finger and gently massage it on to your lips in a circular motion. Repeat this a couple of times till you feel the dead skin peeling away. Quick tip If you don't have brown sugar, you can also use slightly coarse white sugar.
After your lips are free from most of the top dead skin, it’s time to soothe the tingling sensation.
VITAMIN E LIP MASK Ingredients 2 Vitamin E Capsules 1/2 teaspoon of Vaseline/ Petroleum Jelly Preparation Cut open the vitamin e capsules to extract the contents. Add the vaseline and mix well. Application Generously apply two coats of the mask on your lips and massage in circular motions. Quick tip It's best to keep this mask on, but if it begins to feel too greasy gently dab a moist cotton on your lips to remove excess product.
It is extremely important to keep your lips hydrated and prevent them from further chapping. A hydrating balm would keep the moisture intact and create a layer which would protect the lips from harsh environmental conditions.
CLARIFIED BUTTER (GHEE) BALM Ingredients 1 teaspoon of clarified butter/ghee 1 q-tip / cotton bud Preparation Melt the ghee in the microwave or on the gas. Let it cool for a while. Application When the Ghee becomes cool enough to handle, take the q-tip and dip it in the melted ghee. Gently apply this to your lips.Repeat the procedure till your lips are covered with the liquid. Quick tip Use this overnight, wash it off in the morning.
Do try out and give me your feedback folks.Hope this helped!
Until next time..
